Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
- Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational activities that promote social engagement.
- Conduct assessments to determine residents' preferences and abilities related to activities.
- Facilitate group and individual activities that encourage participation from all residents.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of cognitive and physical abilities.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
- Provide support for residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments through specialized programming.
- Manage schedules effectively to ensure a diverse range of activities throughout the week.
- Engage families in the planning process to foster community involvement.
Experience
- Proven experience in event planning, particularly within a senior care or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Background in recreational therapy, dementia care, or aging issues counseling is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with long-term care environments such as nursing homes or home community care settings is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
