Role description:
As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in working with a Senior Resident Engineer overseeing construction projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, adhere to specifications, and stay within budget and timeline constraints.
Role accountabilities:
- Responsible for assuring all submittals, schedules, insurance, and other contract requirements are submitted and approved by the responsible stakeholders.
- Chair meetings with contractors, facility personnel, design consultants and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes
- Verify that the required material inspection and testing is performed and documented
- Responsible for maintaining/cataloging inspection records, photos and shop drawings
- Generate correspondence between the owner and the General Contractor
- Monitor contractor’ progress against approved construction schedule
- Review and process change orders
- Review and approve contractor pay applications
- Ensure manuals and booklets required by contract documents are collected from the contractor
- Assist with final project close-out
- Gather documents, reports, photos, from CM field staff and prepare for official submission.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 3 or more years’ experience in construction management, with a focus on transit and rail projects.
- Proven experience with construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Bluebeam Revu)
- Preferably looking for an EIT with a strong ambition to become a PE.
