Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking Management Consultants to join our world-class Business Advisory practice in locations throughout the United States. While this is a National search, please apply to this position if you are interested in working in Los Angeles or Irvine, CA.

The chosen candidate can expect to work independently as well as on teams staffed with management consultants, IT professionals, engineers, and scientists from various backgrounds, locations, specialties, and experience levels. Some tasks, such as addressing requests for assistance, require a combination of technical and non-technical skills. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual that possesses the initiative and ability to take on new projects, learn new skills independently, troubleshoot issues, and can expect to tackle other challenges regularly.

Role accountabilities:

The role involves assessing, developing, and supporting a variety of management consulting projects, which include tasks such as performing data analytics, financial analysis, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, vulnerability and mitigation assessments, as well as planning and development for utilities, municipalities, and cities, with a primary focus on water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities. The individual must utilize strong analytical skills and logical problem-solving abilities to support teams in tasks that range from general fieldwork to technical, office-based analysis. Responsibilities also include assisting in technical writing, which may involve preparing technical reports, supporting business development efforts, and creating presentations or other audiovisual materials. The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members across the U.S. and internationally, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Managing multiple concurrent projects with varying deadlines is essential, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion. The individual will also perform services either on-site or off-site to support client staff in their day-to-day activities, such as planning and scheduling, condition assessment, capacity assessment, and contractor management. Additional duties include developing and reviewing technical reports and presentations, collaborating with senior consultants and client staff to conduct business process and work method assessments, performing research and data collection, analyzing findings, and generating reports. The role also involves designing and implementing analytics and dashboard platforms, as well as database design, development, and management for SQL Server or Oracle. Some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, and other related activities

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years of consulting experience with an environmental engineering or management consulting firm or equivalent experience with a medium/large municipal utility.
  • B.S. in Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Engineering Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Finance or Business-related discipline such as MBA, MPA, Accounting, IT
  • Previous relevant consulting or utility experience, either internship or full-time
  • Experience applying programming languages and analytics to problem-solving is a plus
  • SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Change Management skills, and/or Augmented Reality experience

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $78,415 - $129,385. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
