Position Description:
The primary responsibilities of the Director of Payee Services include providing direct employee oversight, department financial oversight, and assisting in daily operations as needed. Key responsibilities include managing monthly reconciliations, staying informed about Social Security matters, and acting as the primary contact for Social Security audits. The manager will respond professionally to inquiries from employees and outside agencies regarding client matters when necessary, and will manage the onboarding process for new clients, working with the SSA, Case Manager, clients, and assigned Payee Coordinator. Additionally, the Payee Manager will complete various government reports, such as wage reporting, Representative Payee Reports, and Continuing Disability Reports. The role also involves verifying that Payee Coordinators have correctly entered daily transactions, processing ACH approvals, and setting up and maintaining VA client checking accounts.
This is a full-time, in-office position with some flexibility in setting daytime hours. Typical office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
Key Competencies:
- Educational and Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Direct experience working with individuals with disabilities is strongly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to make and verify computations with accuracy, ensuring precise data entry and report generation.
- Analytical and Reporting Skills: Competence in compiling statistical data and preparing routine reports under time constraints.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, clients, and external agencies.
- Computer Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software (such as Quicken or QuickBooks) for effective data management and reporting.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service skills, with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism in addressing inquiries.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
