Brief Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Superintendent plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of construction projects.
This position is responsible for assisting the Superintendent/Project Manager in overseeing all aspects of
construction, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the specified quality
standards. The Assistant Superintendent will also work closely with subcontractors, vendors, and the project team
to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Essential Functions Statement(s)
Project Coordination and Supervision:
Experience: 1-3 years related work experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel; and customized software. Ability to learn and adapt to changing
technologies as the organization changes

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Project Coordination and Supervision:
- Assist the Superintendent/Project Manager in managing daily construction activities, ensuring the project is progressing as planned.
- Help supervise subcontractors, vendors, and labor force to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
- Maintain project schedules, track project progress, and address any delays or issues.
- Review and give input on projects, specifications, and blueprints.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures on-site.
- Assist in conducting daily safety briefings and inspections.
- Support the Superintendent/Project Manager in resolving any safety issues promptly.
- Monitor and report unsafe practices or conditions to prevent accidents.
- Assist in enforcing construction quality standards through inspections and evaluations.
- Verify that materials, equipment, and work quality meet project specification and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular quality control checks and address discrepancies or deficiencies.
- Serve as a point of contact for on-site workers, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Provide progress reports to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Communicate project status updates, delays, and challenges to relevant parties.
- Coordinate and attend meetings with project teams to discuss scheduling, changes, and problem resolution. Documentation and Record Keeping
- Help maintain accurate project documentation, including subcontractor agreements, schedules, daily reports, time logs, and safety records.
- Assist with change order requests and track project costs to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Assist in preparing and submitting necessary paperwork for inspections and approvals. Resource Management
- Assist in managing labor, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient use throughout the project.
- Help schedule deliveries, ensuring the materials arrive on time and are stored properly.
- Support in tracking and managing equipment usage to prevent loss or damage. Other Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager in developing project scopes, distributing bid requests, and creating project budgets.
- Attend all weekly company meeting and training.
- Assist in the training and development of new on-site construction staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
