The U.S. Air Force (USAF) and Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) has a requirement for operations and maintenance (O&M) of complex Threat Systems, support equipment, system spare parts, special tools, test equipment, and depot level documentation under the Alaskan Range Combat Training Integrated Comm and Support (ARCTICS) contract. The JPARC is able to field and operate systems to represent realistic Threat capabilities for Red Flag Alaska exercises based at Eielson Air Force Base located near Fairbanks, Alaska, and similar events with the USAF.

Overview:
The Electronics Maintenance Technician III (Radar Tech III) plays a critical role in maintaining and troubleshooting advanced threat systems, including Unmanned Mobile Threat Emitters, in support of the ARCTICS contract. Using advanced technical knowledge, the Tech III addresses complex electronic issues, supports system operational readiness, and provides technical guidance to junior technicians. This position requires independent judgment, expertise in circuit analysis, and the use of sophisticated test equipment to support training missions for the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC).
This senior-level role demands advanced technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the operational readiness and reliability of sophisticated threat systems. The Tech III contributes to mission success by maintaining critical systems, leading technical efforts, and mentoring team members.
Responsibilities:
•Perform advanced maintenance activities, including periodic, scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance on threat systems.
•Solve complex problems such as evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
•Analyze circuits, calculate waveforms, and trace signal flow relationships to diagnose and resolve issues.
•Use advanced test equipment such as high-frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and computer-controlled systems.
•Operate and prepare threat systems, including radars and supporting equipment, for training events, ensuring threat-faithful operations during JPARC missions.
•Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Air Force technical orders (TOs) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
•Track, manage, and maintain sufficient spares inventory to ensure system operational readiness.
•Interface with the Air Force depot system to report and coordinate maintenance and logistics activities for assigned threat systems.
•Submit reports, including Proposed Spare Parts Lists and Inventory/Utilization Data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
•Exercise independent judgment and provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians as needed.
•Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training in electronics required.
•5 years of experience in electronics maintenance, repair, or operations.
•Expertise in Unmanned Mobile Threat Emitters or similar systems preferred.
•Proficiency with advanced test instruments and tools, including high-frequency pulse generators and complex computer control equipment.
•Strong understanding of circuit interrelationships and advanced problem-solving abilities.
•Ability to interpret and apply Air Force TOs, OEM documentation, and technical guidance.
•Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and mentor junior technicians.
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
•Eligible for DoD security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
•Willingness to work outdoors and travel frequently to support JPARC range operations.
