The U.S. Air Force (USAF) and Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) has a requirement for operations and maintenance (O&M) of complex Threat Systems, support equipment, system spare parts, special tools, test equipment, and depot level documentation under the Alaskan Range Combat Training Integrated Comm and Support (ARCTICS) contract. The JPARC is able to field and operate systems to represent realistic Threat capabilities for Red Flag Alaska exercises based at Eielson Air Force Base located near Fairbanks, Alaska, and similar events with the USAF.

Overview :
The Senior Range Engineer - Threat Systems leads the design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of threat simulation systems, including Unmanned Mobile Threat Emitters, in support of the Alaska Range Combat Training Integrated Communications and Support (ARCTICS) contract. This position ensures the operational readiness of advanced threat systems critical to Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) training and exercises.
The Senior Range Engineer - Threat Systems plays a critical role in maintaining the operational readiness of threat systems that are integral to the success of training missions at JPARC. This position is essential for ensuring high-quality support under the ARCTICS contract.
Responsibilities :
Provide engineering expertise for the operation, maintenance, and sustainment of Unmanned Mobile Threat Emitters and other threat simulation systems.Lead the integration and testing of threat systems to ensure alignment with mission requirements and system specifications.Develop, review, and update technical documentation, schematics, and system designs for threat systems.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to hardware, software, and networked components of threat systems.Collaborate with government stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors to ensure seamless operation and support of training scenarios.Oversee the development and implementation of system upgrades, modifications, and enhancements for improved performance and reliability.Conduct performance analyses to assess system functionality and recommend improvements.Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. Air Force regulations, safety standards, and cybersecurity requirements for all threat systems.Lead the calibration and testing of threat systems to maintain accuracy and operational effectiveness.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.Support range operations and mission planning by ensuring threat systems are available, operational, and integrated into scenarios.Prepare and deliver technical reports, briefings, and presentations to stakeholders on threat system status and improvements.Travel to Joint Deployable Electronic Warfare Range (JDEWR) and other remote sites to provide engineering support as required.Perform other duties as assigned to meet mission needs.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in range operations, electronic warfare, or threat system engineering.Extensive knowledge of Unmanned Mobile Threat Emitters and their operation, maintenance, and integration.Proficiency in hardware, software, and network systems used in threat simulations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.Familiarity with U.S. Air Force threat systems, training protocols, and range operations.Experience with system testing, calibration, and performance evaluation.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics.Strong understanding of cybersecurity requirements for integrated systems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for preparing technical documentation and stakeholder briefings.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.Willingness to travel to remote locations, including JDEWR sites, as required.Preferred Skills :
Prior experience working on the ARCTICS contract or similar military programs.Proficiency in project management, including managing system upgrades and modifications.Familiarity with MIL-STD protocols and U.S. Air Force technical orders.Experience in mentoring and leadership within engineering teams.Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Ability to work in outdoor environments and under various weather conditions.Must be able to work extended hours and travel to remote sites as required.
