Job Description
The Local City Driver / Forklift Operator is responsible for pickup and delivery of cargo trailers, as well as the delivery of the various cargo (small, medium, and large pieces) to and from various destinations, usually within close proximity of the consolidation/distribution center. This position must also be able to load and unload the trailers, utilizing the same techniques and procedures as a dockworker. Actual duties and schedule may vary depending on terminal location.

Job Description
The Local City Driver / Forklift Operator is responsible for pickup and delivery of cargo trailers, as well as the delivery of the various cargo (small, medium, and large pieces) to and from various destinations, usually within close proximity of the consolidation/distribution center. This position must also be able to load and unload the trailers, utilizing the same techniques and procedures as a dockworker. Actual duties and schedule may vary depending on terminal location.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload cargo.
- Complete routine paperwork effectively, and properly log loading sheets.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Operate a forklift as needed.
- Perform various tasks ranging from check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, tractor set up, and the pickup and delivery of cargo.
- Exercise independent judgment regarding the building and tearing down of the trailer to utilize time, resources, energy, and physical demands effectively and efficiently, while complying with all weight distribution laws.
Education:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum, one-year verifiable tractor/trailer experience (Candidates with less than one-year experience may be eligible for training).
- Must have a good stable work record, and a safe driving record (from MVR and previous employment).
- Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements.
Work Hours:
- Schedule may vary depending on Service Center location.
- This is a hourly position paid weekly.
