JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re seeking a seasoned Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our new, primary manufacturing facility in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. To excel in this role, you need to have deep knowledge of the processes and operations involved in running a manufacturing facility. You are a player / coach and responsible for upholding a safe working environment for plant workers, ensuring the production schedule does not fall behind due to accidents and injuries, and work with senior management to develop plans that help operations run smoothly. You’re hands on and working side-by-side with your team when it comes to production and assembly.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Oversee operations and floor productivity to ensure safety
- Manage production; follow and enforce strict quality control measures
- Manage and schedule plant staff; oversee work schedules to ensure coverage
- Work closely with procurement to manage inventory levels and vendor relations
- Schedule and supervise all shipping / receiving and logistics
- Create and manage budgets
- Recruit, train and onboard new employees
- Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste
- Analyze data and create reports to present to executives regarding processes
- Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs for equipment, machinery, and infrastructure
- Perform routine safety checks on equipment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management, warehouse operations, or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and compliance standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and skilled in project management; knowledge of MS Project a plus
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in hiring, training, and supervising facility staff
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and vendor management
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to emergent situations
- Ability to read and interpret structural and engineered plans, contracts, and maintenance reports
- Proficiency in using facilities management software and inventory tracking systems
