DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The Basics:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical, Materials Science and/or combination of post-secondary education and experience
• Five or more years of experience in quality assurance, customer technical service, and/or product development in automotive industry

The Extras:

• Steel industry experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of flat rolled steel processes and/or automotive applications strongly desired

• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel
• Ability to engage team members to meet / exceed established performance objectives
• Forward thinking for future succession planning and personal development of team members to prepare them for future roles

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Reporting unsatisfactory operating conditions causing defective product and engaging the support of Operations to identify and resolve the causes of defective material
• In person rapid response to customer facilities to address quality performance issues
• Implementing changes to address issues impacting quality, manufacturing and/or customer performance including cross departmental coordination
• Ensuring adherence to industry standards to maintain current certifications and participating in quality audits
• Acting as point of contact with Customer Service for all product performance issues such as metallurgical, surface, and/or dimensional defects
• Leading / directing team members to investigate unusual rejections and recommending action
• Reviewing and dispositioning material being held
• Initiating improvements in defect detection and classification for all visual inspection systems and refining inspection practices and standards
• Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
• Fulfill the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment
• Demonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office and Industrial setting
• Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
• Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
