At ArcelorMittal, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to be part of our Electrical Steel development team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background and be well-versed in the processing and quality of non-oriented electrical steels. Superior communication and interpersonal skills are required as is the ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of the organization including Operations, Quality, Commercial, and Global R&D.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Global R&D and plant teams to develop practices for successful production of non-oriented electrical steel grades
- Perform root cause analysis of product quality problems and provide diagnosis to solve manufacturability issues
- Deploy R&D developed solutions in the area of electrical steel manufacturing with Global R&D teams
- Train plant staff on operating practices for electrical steel manufacturing, develop quality control documents, and communicate with customers
- Use plant data to generate new scientific knowledge and support research and development of new products and technologies
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and good understanding of electromagnetism and electromagnetic theory. A master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering is preferred along with proven experience in managing and improving electrical steel production processes.
