Job Description
The I&E Technician performs a variety of plant and equipment maintenance to ensure effective and efficient operation of the plant. This person will need to have the ability to work in a team setting or independently on projects that will ensure the division reaches their goals. The electricians' task and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Knows, understands, and follows all Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements
- Inspect, maintain, repair and overhaul electromechanical and solid state electrical equipment, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment.
- Advising management on ways to improve equipment repairs
- Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National and / or Local Electrical Code and company electrical standards.
- Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.
- Operate mobile equipment and certify as mobile equipment operator for specific equipment (ie, forklift, carry deck, crane)
- Comply with and practice proper equipment clearance procedures.
- Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment regulations.
- Knowledgeable in Lockout / tag out procedures
- Input of information in maintenance tracking system (SAP PM) and complete paperwork including, but not limited to, work orders, inventory, and preventive maintenance forms
- Assists Safety Manager and safety team regarding safety and emergency measures by reporting all hazardous conditions and incidents and acknowledgement of safety and emergency plans.
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
