The Maintenance Planning Manager leads the planning and execution of plant planned turnaround and unplanned outages as effectively and economically as possible, while being consistent with plant policies, practices, and procedures. The person in this position will consistently drive to minimize overall maintenance cost. This person will need the ability to lead a team and work independently on projects that will ensure the unit reaches its goals.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Perform all work in compliance with all HSSE standards and company procedures/policies
- Responsible for the cost and schedule for all planning and scheduling all daily maintenance and outage work.
- Establishes a plan for contracting manpower for all scheduled daily maintenance and outage work.
- Develops a logistics site plan for all scheduled daily maintenance and outage work.
- Meet on a regular basis with all departments involved in the daily maintenance and outages to develop maintenance plans and schedules
- Regularly review all open SAP notifications and opportunities list to ensure a plan of action is in place in case of any outage occurrences.
- During the planned turnaround reports daily on the turnaround schedule and the turnaround cost
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in a related engineering field or a minimum of 10 years of maintenance planning experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing plant processes
- Good knowledge of local codes and standards
- Mechanical or electrical systems maintenance knowledge
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and process flow diagrams
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project 2010
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing. Skills will be used to produce quality reports and thorough instructions and directions.
- Must be able to walk long distances and stand and work for more than 2 hours in tough environmental conditions (high temperatures, high humidity, noise, & dust), and withstand heights of up to 500 feet.
