Arcetyp LLC is a growing small business that provides a broad range of consulting services to US Federal Government, US Military, and Commercial clients. Services include Management & IT Consulting, Program & Project Management, and Professional & Admin Services.
We are recruiting an experienced Cobol Senior Software/Solutions Architect to join our team.
POSITION DUTIES: Primary job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Designs and develops automated code translation processes and procedures. Designs COBOL/Assembler code optimization to existing software.
- Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
- Responsible for project completion.
- Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects for management.
- Provides technical knowledge and analysis of current code base applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that necessitate high-level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
- Participates as needed in all phases of PoC with emphasis on the planning, analysis, modeling, testing, integration, and documentation.
- Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development. Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization (SQL, ORACLE, SYBASE, etc.).
- Advises of feasibility of potential future steps in the upcoming efforts to support CS.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Applicants MUST have this experience:
- Ten (10) years relevant experience with legacy system modernization.
- Must possess experience implementing and deploying automated code translation tools in legacy systems with demonstrated results.
- Demonstrated experience with agile SW methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience implementing solutions for DevSeCOps.
- Demonstrated experience implementing AI/ML best practices.
- Experience with modern system design and the development of solutions to support transitioning a legacy system to modern technology and architectures.
EDUCATION:
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or closely related discipline.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at time of proposal submission.
- DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
WORK AUTHORIZATION:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
