We are recruiting an experienced Network Architect to join our team. Work is in the Philadelphia Navy Yard. This is a full time multi-month engagement.
POSITION DUTIES. Primary job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Seeking a motivated Network Architect with expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) control systems and industrial network infrastructure to design and secure critical facility networks for HVAC, Chilled Water, and Process Cooling Water systems at our Land-Based Engineering Site (LBES).
- Must possess IAT Level II Certification per DoDI 8570, have experience implementing DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls, and demonstrate expertise in securing industrial control systems while maintaining operational effectiveness.
- Balancing robust security controls with operational requirements while maintaining compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
- Work closely with control systems engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and facility operators to deliver secure and reliable network infrastructure.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Design and implement secure network architectures for critical control systems including HVAC DDC, Chilled Water, and Process Cooling Water facility-related systems.
- Create and maintain network documentation including cybersecurity riser diagrams, interconnection schedules, and network communication reports.
- Design solutions for secure remote access and privileged user interfaces.
- Configure and harden network devices according to applicable STIGs and SRGs.
- Implement network security controls including encryption, access control lists, and audit logging.
- Ensure compliance with DODI 8551.01 requirements for ports, protocols, and services management.
- Develop network segmentation strategies adhering to DoD cybersecurity requirements.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE. Applicants MUST have this experience:
- Secret Clearance required (interim accepted).
- 5 years’ experience designing secure industrial control system networks.
- Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Certification (DoDI 8570/8410.3) - must be current and in effect prior to hiring (CISSP, ISACA CISA, CCNP, CASP CE).
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security architecture, and cybersecurity principles.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with HVAC, building automation, and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity audit and compliance requirements.
- Background in critical infrastructure protection.
- Experience designing segmented networks with strict access controls.
- Familiarity with NIST security controls and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
