What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Coordinator position at Arch Ford Education Service Co-op?
SUMMARY:
The Technology Coordinator oversees, coordinates, and supports the use of all technology at the ESC, including both hardware and software. This position came about due to the need for providing both technical and creative guidance to schools on implementing technology that could be sustained and managed per a district's size and resources. In accordance with state law, grants are provided to all ESC’s (Education Service Cooperatives) in the State to provide and maintain a technology training center to support the APSCN network and its applications as well as help districts maintain that connectivity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
At Arch Ford:
Manage and maintain the Co-op LAN
Manage and maintain Co-op’s Google domain and email accounts
Almost all tech purchasing, repair and maintenance
E-Rate application assistance
Co-op Website assistance
Tech assistance for all Co-op employees
Assistance to ALE & HUB administrators and teachers
Device repair for ALE & HUB staff and student devices
Attend Co-op Tech Coordinator meetings and complete requirements for the job as outlined by ADE
Facilitate Co-op Tech Coordinator meetings (held here at AF)
Plan and coordinate summer technology PD
Present Technology PD sessions
Speak to Superintendents or other groups when needed
Attend Specialist’s Meetings and work with them on technology skills
Facilitate Library Media Specialist Group - meets once per semester and corresponds through Google Group with updates and relevant information
Facilitate Arch Ford Region Techs - meets at least 4 times yearly or more when there is relevant information

Maintain AF Summer PD application
For the Districts:
Gather information upon request and disseminate relevant information and mandates to member school districts.
Help districts understand, stay informed and compliant on tech issues
Communicate with Administrators and Tech Coordinators for compliance and info
Provide training and meetings for district Tech Coordinators
Provide training and meeting space for district Library Media Specialists
Meet at the district with different technology teacher teams upon request
Provide PD at the district upon request
Assist with assessment testing needs - tech and testing coordinator
Assist with district E-Rate needs
Find information, answer emails
Maintain and enroll drivers in the bus driver online course training modules
QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional Certification - preferred Masters in Education with a minimum of Bachelors in Education or computer experience
Experience in the K-12 education system as mentor, leader, technical advisor and direct skills in the field
Specialized knowledge in understanding networks, computers and software applications especially related to the K-12 education field.
Broad understanding of the State network (Arkansas) as it pertains to the K-12 system and use of APSCN/eFinance, eSchool and other data platforms
Skills in analytical thinking, meshing required technologies for best compatibility, and system platform integration.
Creativity and innovation are helpful
Ability to converse with peers professionally, offer help timely in progressing growth of networks and applications
Listen to needs and adopt appropriate responses,
Be inquisitive and be available for consultations and assist as needed and required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Coordinator will be required to stand for longer periods of time to provide professional learning opportunities to teachers (approximately 6 hours per day), walk to interact with teachers, sit, stoop, or crouch
Use of hands to handle or feel, type, and pick up objects, and reach with hands and arms
Effective Oral and Written Communication
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer.
Ability to drive to provide support on-site for districts
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
