Are you passionate about servers, networks, and solving real-world tech puzzles? Valor Node, operating under Arch Point Technologies is seeking a Datacenter Technician to join our growing team in an on-call, on-demand capacity.
About the Role:
This is not your typical 9-to-5. This is a flexible, on-call, as-needed position — ideal for someone looking for extra hours on the side. There are no set weekly hours. Instead, work is assigned when clients request service or maintenance. You’ll be contacted to schedule tasks based on your availability and client needs. This role is a great fit for students, tech professionals with a day job, or anyone seeking a part-time side gig in the tech field.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to client tickets promptly, ensuring proper ticket logging.
- Rack and stack of both client and internal equipment.
- Perform maintenance on servers and network equipment.
- Document all activities, changes, and repairs performed on equipment.
- Install, maintain, and work with Juniper switching equipment.
- Navigate and utilize our billing and ticketing system to ensure proper client billing and ticket updates.
- Provide hands-on assistance with server hardware, networking, and infrastructure systems.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of Juniper switching.
- Experience with BGP with Bird/Pathvector.
- Experience with VirtFusion, Virtualizor, and/or ProxMox.
- Experience with WHMCS for ticketing and client communication.
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server Environments.
- Experience with TCP/IP Routing.
- Solid understanding of datacenter operations.
- Reliable transportation to and from our St. Louis datacenter. You may be required to respond promptly, so being within 15-30 minutes is requested.
- Professional communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 40 per week
