Position Type: Full-time / Part-time Available
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team at our Level 3.5 ASAM and 3.7 ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) Substance Use Disorder (SUD) residential treatment facility. The BHT will provide direct support to clients, assisting with daily activities, monitoring their behavior, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and document clients’ behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to clinical staff.
Facilitate group activities and educational sessions as assigned.
Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment by monitoring the facility and responding to emergencies.
Support clients in adhering to their treatment plans, including medication management and attending scheduled activities.
Conduct regular room checks and ensure that the facility’s rules and guidelines are followed.
Assist with admissions, discharges, and the orientation of new clients.
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and observations in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience working in a behavioral health or SUD treatment setting preferred.
Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications in crisis intervention or de-escalation techniques preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and respond appropriately to emergencies.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
Understanding of and sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by individuals with substance use disorders.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, reaching, and restraining clients if necessary.
