Overview: Arch Systems is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Director of AI with deep expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and a robust background in federal government contracting. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a related field and extensive hands-on experience in AI technologies, with a strong track record of leading AI-driven solutions and innovations. As a strategic leader, this individual will play a pivotal role in advancing Arch Systems' AI capabilities for federal clients and ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge, impactful AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- AI Strategy & Leadership:
- Lead and shape the AI vision and strategy across the organization, ensuring alignment with Arch Systems' overall business goals and client needs.
- Provide thought leadership in AI and machine learning (ML), contributing to the strategic direction of AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with federal clients, executive leadership, and project teams to define AI-based solutions and create roadmaps that address federal challenges.
- Solutioning & Innovation:
- Design, implement, and oversee AI solutions that address complex federal challenges, leveraging state-of-the-art AI technologies and frameworks.
- Ensure AI solutions are scalable, adaptable, and tailored to meet the specific needs of federal agencies, such as HHS, DHS, USDA, and NOAA.
- Explore and develop innovative AI methodologies and approaches, advancing the company’s capabilities in areas like natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and predictive analytics.
- Project Delivery & Oversight:
- Oversee the technical execution of AI projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with federal regulations.
- Ensure AI solutions meet performance, security, and compliance requirements for federal agencies, including any relevant policies, frameworks, and acquisition processes.
- Manage project teams, mentor AI professionals, and foster an environment of collaboration and innovation.
- Collaboration & Partnership Development:
- Establish and maintain relationships with key federal stakeholders, industry leaders, and academic partners to promote AI research and innovation.
- Drive AI-related business development activities, including proposal development, solution design, and partnerships to secure new opportunities.
- Collaborate with federal clients to understand their AI needs, ensuring solutions are tailored to their goals and objectives.
- AI Research & Development:
- Lead research and development efforts related to advanced AI techniques, algorithms, and architectures.
- Stay ahead of emerging AI trends, tools, and techniques, ensuring Arch Systems remains a leader in AI innovation within the federal sector.
- Compliance & Ethics:
- Ensure all AI solutions comply with federal guidelines, security standards, and ethical considerations surrounding AI deployment in the public sector.
- Champion responsible AI practices, including transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI algorithms.
Key Qualifications:
- Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in AI, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering AI solutions for federal government clients, with an understanding of federal acquisition processes and procurement regulations.
- Expertise in AI methodologies such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, and natural language processing.
- Extensive experience working with federal agencies (e.g., HHS, DHS, USDA, NOAA) to deliver AI-based solutions.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Java).
- Hands-on experience with AI frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, scikit-learn).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their AI services.
- Knowledge of data privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical considerations in AI applications.
- Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to build and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and academic institutions to foster innovation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive creative solutions to complex federal challenges.

Salary : $180,000 - $250,000
