The Vice President of Government Relations at Arch Systems is responsible for leading and executing the company’s government engagement strategy across federal, civilian, and defense agencies, including HHS, DHS, USDA, NOAA, IRS, DoD, and its components such as the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and key defense agencies like DISA, DHA, and DARPA. This executive role will drive policy advocacy, expand strategic partnerships, and position Arch as a trusted leader in technology solutions for both civilian and defense sectors. The VP of Government Relations will serve as the primary liaison between Arch and government decision-makers, ensuring the company remains well-positioned to support mission-critical initiatives in IT, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and digital transformation.
Key ResponsibilitiesGovernment Relations Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy to advance Arch’s business objectives across civilian and defense markets.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government officials, congressional staff, agency leaders, and defense stakeholders at organizations such as HHS, DHS, USDA, NOAA, IRS, DoD, and its components.
- Advocate for federal and defense policies that align with Arch’s expertise in IT modernization, cybersecurity, data analytics, and cloud infrastructure.
- Represent Arch in key policy discussions, government meetings, hearings, and industry events to enhance visibility and credibility.
Strategic Partnerships & Engagement:
- Cultivate and expand relationships with senior government officials, policymakers, prime contractors, and key stakeholders across civilian and defense agencies.
- Work closely with business development and capture teams to identify new opportunities in government contracting and defense procurement.
- Strengthen Arch’s presence within DoD and civilian agencies by fostering relationships with acquisition leaders, innovation hubs, and strategic partners.
Regulatory & Policy Insight:
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments affecting federal IT procurement, cybersecurity mandates, and defense modernization initiatives.
- Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership on defense and civilian agency priorities, federal acquisition trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Ensure all government relations efforts comply with federal regulations, ethics guidelines, and DoD procurement standards.
Defense & Civilian Contracting Strategy:
- Support business development and capture efforts by leveraging insights into federal and defense acquisition processes.
- Provide guidance on government contract vehicles such as GSA Schedules, CIO-SP3, NASA SEWP, DoD IDIQs, and OTA contracts.
- Work with executive leadership to align government relations efforts with Arch’s long-term growth strategy in the federal and defense markets.
- Extensive relationships and a strong network across federal civilian and defense agencies, particularly within HHS, DHS, USDA, NOAA, IRS, DoD, DISA, DHA, DARPA, and military branches.
- Proven experience in government relations, public affairs, or federal business development within the technology, healthcare, or defense sectors.
- Deep understanding of federal and defense acquisition processes, procurement regulations, and legislative frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with senior government officials, military leadership, policymakers, and industry executives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
- Experience working in federal or DoD agencies, government contracting firms, or defense technology sectors.
- Strong knowledge of federal IT modernization, cybersecurity policies, AI/ML, cloud solutions, and digital transformation initiatives.
