Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range $120,000.00 / yr - $165,000.00 / yrPosition Overview : We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with federal government experience who is not only skilled in managing IT projects but also drives innovation to improve efficiency, automation, and cost savings for government programs. This role requires a strong technical background , expertise in Agile methodologies , and a proactive mindset to lead modernization initiatives that optimize federal IT operations.The ideal candidate will lead IT transformation, process automation, and emerging technology adoption while ensuring successful project execution. This role requires hands-on engagement with federal clients , identifying areas for innovation, and implementing best practices that improve operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities : Project & Technical Leadership : Manage the full lifecycle of IT modernization projects , including software development, cloud migration, cybersecurity, and data analytics initiatives.Lead Agile / Scrum teams to ensure iterative delivery of solutions that align with agency missions.Drive the adoption of emerging technologies (AI / ML, RPA, low-code platforms, DevSecOps) to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.Innovation & Continuous Improvement : Analyze current business processes and IT operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend automated, AI-driven, or data-driven improvements .Implement Agile best practices and DevSecOps to accelerate delivery cycles and improve system reliability.Evaluate and introduce COTS / GOTS solutions that align with federal IT compliance frameworks while enhancing system performance.Drive initiatives to streamline workflows, improve data-driven decision-making, and optimize IT infrastructure for cost savings.Stakeholder & Change Management : Collaborate with federal agency stakeholders to understand mission needs, define KPIs, and ensure solutions align with agency goals.Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and gain buy-in for process improvements and IT transformations .Lead change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new technologies and methodologies.Risk, Compliance & Security Oversight : Ensure all IT solutions align with federal security frameworks (FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, FITARA, etc.).Proactively identify risks , create mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with federal IT policies.Lead vendor evaluations and contract oversight to ensure government resources are effectively utilized.Reporting & Communication : Develop status reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders and senior leadership.Ensure transparency in project progress, risks, and key performance indicators through detailed reporting.Contract & Vendor Management : Oversee subcontractors , monitor contract performance, and ensure deliverables meet federal agency requirements .Work with vendors to ensure compliance with government policies and optimize cost-effective solutions.Required Qualifications : 5 years of experience managing IT projects within the federal government sector .Proven track record of introducing innovative IT solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and DevSecOps methodologies in government IT projects.Experience managing cross-functional teams , including cloud engineers, cybersecurity experts, and software developers .Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), automation tools (RPA, AI / ML), and process optimization strategies .Expertise in IT modernization, digital transformation, and system automation .Strong knowledge of federal IT compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, FITARA).Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar tools .Preferred Qualifications : PMP, CSM, SAFe Agilist, or ITIL certifications preferred.Experience supporting HHS, DHS, USDA, NOAA, IRS, or other federal agencies .Experience with data analytics, AI / ML-driven solutions, and automation tools (UiPath, Power Automate, etc.) .Seniority level Mid-Senior levelEmployment type Full-timeJob function Project Management and Information TechnologyIndustries IT Services and IT Consulting#J-18808-Ljbffr
