What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Business Development position at ARCH?
We are seeking a Director of Business Development to lead programs and projects related to increasing business levels with existing and new customer for the Medical Solutions segment of ARCH. This role will help support the Aerospace & Defense and Non-Medical markets in addition to a variety of existing and potential AMS customers. You will create strong relationships with customers to better assist them with solutions that match current and future capabilities across AMS. Evaluating customer needs to help determine proper match with the Company’s service offerings and locations, participates in pricing and lead time evaluations and quotations based on manufacturing cost estimates and other business factors; follows up on outstanding quotations and customer requirements. Provide leadership with new product development projects. Works closely with manufacturing sites to manage expectations for project timelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Drive strong business growth through establishing and maintaining value-added relationships with key customers to assure complete satisfaction with AMS products and services.
•Reviews Business Development strategies with AMS segment executive leadership and Senior Management at AMS sites.
•Maintain strong working relationships with BD staff across AMS.
•Maintain up to date knowledge of capabilities and capacities at AMS locations.
•Generate new business consistent with Company’s market focus and core competencies across all locations within the Medical segment.
•Directs staff with responsibility for customer order acknowledgement and clarifications/corrections as necessary.
•Directs staff with responsibility to ensure contract review processes are performed timely.
•Verifies customer satisfaction and leads the AMS team with the resolution for any concerns.
•Provides briefings on sales activities across AMS segment to Executive Leadership
•Follows up on leads generated by marketing activities; telephones or visits potential customers to discuss needs and provide product demonstrations.
•Coordinates, attends, and works trade shows for company as assigned.
•Direct staff to ensure timely submission of quotes and other pertinent information requested by customers during the bidding stage of the sales process.
•Reviews manufacturing cost estimates and lead-times for new project opportunities with appropriate plant personnel across AMS sites to ensure commercial terms and profitability targets can be achieved.
•Leads multisite quotation projects for consistency and accuracy.
•Interacts with customer engineering and technical teams to collaborate on design and manufacturability projects.
•For new projects and customers, gathers product use, application, and critical timeline information to be communicated throughout AMS
•Provide leadership, motivation, accountability, and direction to Business Development staff across AMS.
•Provide support to AMS engineering resources who will develop manufacturing methods used to fulfill customer requirement.
•Ensure performance reviews for any direct reports are conducted as required, including disciplinary action where appropriate and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
•Participate in formal design reviews for new and existing products/customer requirements.
•Participates in recruiting and hiring of employees for business development, project management and account management. Ensures that established policies and procedures are followed.
•Works within the various Quality Management Systems requirements within AMS to ensure compliance to customer requirements and applicable regulatory requirements (FDA QSRs, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, etc.)
•Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Company’s Quality System procedures.
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university, in an engineering discipline; and
•Ten years plus of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
•Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
