Executive Summary
Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati, OH. Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller is a Catholic high school in the Marianist tradition. Moeller strives to educate all students, regardless of ability, in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers. Moeller is nationally recognized for their House System and continues to be a leader in the integration of technology, celebrating over 20 years as a one-to-one tablet school. Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum which includes over 30 Advanced Placement/College Credit Plus courses, as well as courses in visual and performing arts, world language, business, and information technology.
Moeller is seeking a full-time Intervention Specialist to join our Student Support Services department. An Intervention Specialist at Moeller serves as the case manager for 20-24 students with documented disabilities and will provide support services for those students in a resource room environment.
Selected Duties
- Ability to evaluate students accurately and objectively.
- Develop class lessons to support student progress in a college preparatory environment and to further student self-advocacy and effective study strategies.
- Develop Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Services Plan (SP) and Evaluation Team Report (ETR) for students on assigned caseload. Collaborate with public school districts regarding ETR and IEP meetings.
- Report quarterly IEP progress for students on assigned caseload.
- Assist with administration of state testing and coordinate testing accommodations per students’ IEP/SP.
- Assess students’ performance via standardized and/or informal assessments and observations.
- Collaborate with general education teachers in developing and implementing differentiated instruction.
- Participate in departmental Professional Learning Communities and attend educational conferences/ workshops to maintain and improve content, pedagogical and/or technological knowledge.
- Serve as a mentor group teacher in our House System, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Candidates will possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and hold an Ohio Teacher Certification (or be license eligible) as an Intervention Specialist 7-12.
- Candidates will have experience working with multiple mild/moderate disabilities, including ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, depression, and generalized anxiety.
- Ideal candidates will be dynamic, personable, energetic individuals who work well with high school students and their families and will be able to help foster the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of each student. Compensation, Benefits and Hiring
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is full-time; contract is effective August 1 with orientation and onboarding.
