The Science Department at Archbishop Riordan High School has an opening for a full-time teacher. This
position includes sections of the following: Earth and Space Science (3 sections) and Biology (2 sections).
Responsibilities
● Teaching Science at grade levels 9-12
● Designing a spiral curriculum with clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects, and
communicating those objectives to students
● Meeting the needs of a wide range of students by providing extra support or varying assignments
● Collaborating with department members and administrators in the development, evaluation, and
continuous improvement
● Attending professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to
maintain and improve professional competence, plus participate in co-curricular activities
● Commitment to Riordan’s mission and Marianist values
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science related field
● At least one year of high school teaching experience preferred, especially in Earth and Space Science
and Biology
● Teaching credential preferred
● Ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, students and staff
● Understanding of the mission and values of Archbishop Riordan High School and the Archdiocese of
San Francisco
Compensation/FLSA
Exempt. Salary is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement, ranging from $69,626 to $109,376.
