Director of Nursing (DON) - Archbold Mitchell Hospital
Position Description
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct nursing staff, including erformance improvement participation, in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines
Counsel team members, as requested or necessary, and provide appropriate timely documentation of such action with the coordination of HR, the Hospital Administrator and/or VP of Critical Access
Develops, maintains, and updates the competencies and skills checklist for each level of nursing staff personnel in a timely manner
Formulates, introduces, and trains as necessary regarding new policies and procedures
Evaluates daily staffing needs based on patient census and acuity level
Accepts 24 hour on call responsibility
Experience/Education:
Current Georgia RN License in good standing
BSN or higher preferred
Two (2) years experience in an administrative role (i.e. Head Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing)
Must have extensive knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice and knowledge of modern principles and practices of hospital operations and nursing administration
