Environmental Services Supervisor
Description:
Must have a thorough knowledge of the methods and procedures for cleaning and disinfecting patients' rooms, ancillary room, general areas of the hospital and floor maintenance
Must be able to demonstrate and teach proper housekeeping and floor maintenance procedures, including the use of buffers, floor stripping machines, vacuum cleaners, mops, buckets and wringers
Must be able to teach basic safety procedures
Interrelates well with fellow employees and the public
Must communicate well both orally and in writing
Must have good organizational, motivational and leadership abilities
Utilizes management criteria to maintain the cleanliness of the hospital building, satellite facilities, and specified equipment
Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff
Demonstrates effective implementation of management skills
Performs other duties as needed
Good physical and mental dexterity
Able to perform under delegation style management
Ability to handle stressful situations using good judgment
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or GED Certificate preferred; courses in hospital housekeeping or equivalent training
Two years experience as a supervisor
Demonstrated leadership ability
