QAPI (Quality Assurance Performance Improvement)
Position Description
Education Requirements:
Successful completion of an accredited nursing program and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Georgia.
Experience
Three (3) years experience as a registered nurse.
Required Skills
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required and must be maintained while in position.
Demonstrate knowledge of a holistic approach to quality nursing care.
The ability to coordinate all aspects of nursing orientation and education.
Strong leadership skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
Must possess the ability to learn computer skills (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Must possess knowledge and understanding of Performance Improvement in order to direct/coordinate departmental Performance Improvement Program.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative and medical personnel, employees, the public and other agencies.
Required to obtain certification in Infection Control within one year of assuming the position.
Physical Demands
Must be able to move intermittently, including bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching throughout the work day.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position, function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and have the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the facility.
