The Human Resource Coordinator/Bookkeeper is responsible for performing all bookkeeping duties to ensure proper maintenance of accounting records, processing of receivables, payables and payroll in collaboration with the Pastor and Finance & Operations Manager. This person will also assist in all onboarding of employees, maintaining personnel files, benefits administration and addressing employee concerns. This is an onsite, in-person role at the Parish Office in North Andover.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Bookkeeping Responsibilities
- Check invoices for accuracy, post details of transactions, prepare and mail checks and keep vendor files.
- Track credit card charges and reconcile statements.
- Review required federal and state tax forms including distribution of employee W2 and vendor 1099
- Help maintain accounting ledger for receipts and disbursements.
- Help gather, calculate and analyze data needed for financial reporting for both the parish and school.
Major Human Resource Responsibilities
- Onboard new hires, preparation, process, file payroll and distribute checks.
- Keep abreast of any changes or updates in the Archdiocese regulated benefit packages, monthly reconcile the Archdiocese benefits billing statement, and under the direction of the Finance and Operations Manager communicate any changes to affected employees.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate employee records such as vacation, sick and medical leave.
- Maintain all employee personnel files for parish and school having direct contact with staff, the Archdiocese Human Resource Department and when necessary, the Pastor.
General
- Attend meetings and trainings relative to the role, as necessary.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years’ experience in bookkeeping required; QuickBooks or Intacct experience preferred.
- Adept at processing payroll; Paylocity experience preferred but not required.
- Appropriate computer technology skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality required.
- Understand and support the mission of the Catholic Church and its effort.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS
- Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
- Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
