ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in meetings with internal clients to understand their business objectives and communication needs. Provide strategic input and conceptual recommendations on how best to meet client objectives through design solutions and media including direct mail solicitations, collateral, video, social media, and digital campaigns.
- Conceive of, create, and oversee production of a wide range of print and digital assets including brochures, newsletters, invitations, stationery, logos, posters, presentations, web and social media graphics, event signage and materials, reports, and other publications.
- Conceive of, create, and oversee production of video and photography assets for social media, digital campaigns, websites, and events.
- Provide strategic input on branding issues and oversee execution of branding assignments, including creation of logos, typography and color schemes, brand guidelines, etc.
- Collaborate with printers to select type of paper and ink, working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design.
- Manage vendors including outside agencies, art services, printers, etc., to produce accurate and high-quality work.
- Maintains electronic project files. Tracks project status and facilitates completion of project schedules.
- Maintains photo and video archives.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five or more years of graphic design experience with a demonstrated portfolio of creative work in print, digital, photography, and videography.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, deadline oriented, and capably of working independently.
- Excellent organization skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple duties.
- Ability to pivot to meet business needs during crunch times.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive working relationships with Archdiocese personnel, senior executive-level staff and donors, and outside organizations.
- Ability and willingness to pitch, defend, and present ideas and designs.
- Conscientious and highly service oriented.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs.
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and video editing software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
- Knowledge of the Catholic faith and willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church.
- Experience with nonprofit development work is highly desirable.
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
- Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
- Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
