Job Details
The diverse learning teacher position will teach math, literacy, and ENL instruction in small group
instruction inside and outside the classroom, aligning with the archdiocesan standards based on the grade level
assigned. He/she will work alongside the learning center team and with homeroom teachers, creating a
nurturing environment in which students feel loved and cared for. The teacher will provide developmentally
appropriate learning opportunities throughout the day by creating meaningful, hands-on, and engaging lessons.
He/she will partner with families through consistent and effective communication. The teacher is expected to
abide by the policies and procedures of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School, the Archdiocese of Denver, and
the Office of Catholic Schools.
Diverse Learning Teacher Job Description
Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s)
taught.
Creates lesson plans, aligned with current diocesan standards, which drives instruction through
assessment and differentiation.
Maintains a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning, collaboration and
choice.
Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
Provides a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction, assesses students
individually and in small groups based on student learning plans.
Works alongside the learning center coordinator to facilitate RTI meetings, work with district Special
Education department to work with student IEPs, 504s, and student support plans
Helps in the creation of student support plans based on evaluations, outside IEPs or 504s, and other
pertinent information
Provide consistent, immediate feedback to student learning and asks analytical questions that elicit
students’ responses that incorporate prior knowledge, life experience and interests that are directly
related to the content objective.
Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school wide behavior
expectation in which most students are engaged, incorporates mutual respect and provides cooperative
learning opportunities.
Uses available technology/instructional media to enhance the students’ learning experiences.
Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community
members by communicating in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner.
Appropriately communicates and interacts with other professional staff in academic planning and school
committee work.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and extra-curricular/school related activities and committees.
Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth
Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible.
Engages Parents and guardians in the education of their children.

Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching License, Special Education endorsement preferred
3-5 years teaching experience preferred
Complete Archdiocese of Denver Safe Environment Training
Competencies and Qualifications
Preferred that the candidate is a fully initiated Catholic in communion with the Catholic Church
Effective listening and communication skills
Must have appropriate control and discipline techniques to successfully manage a classroom
Must work cooperatively with school staff and administration
Sound judgment and decision-making skills
Knowledge and willingness to implement safety and emergency procedures
Complete necessary training as required by the Archdiocese of Denver Office of Catholic Schools
Salary : $40,183 - $90,089
