What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coffee Bar Manager position at Archdiocese Of Denver?
The Drogo’s Coffee Bar Manager position exists to provide a friendly place of invitation and encounter for the evangelical life of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center (the Catholic university ministry serving the University of Colorado Boulder) through formation of student baristas in excellence in coffee preparation, attentiveness to people and the communal life. The goal of the position would be to ensure the day-to-day work of the cafe in personal encounter, coffee and service would facilitate the joyful mission of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center. The Drogo’s Coffee Bar Manager will be in the center of a very dynamic community of motivated Catholic leaders who are transforming the culture in the grace of Jesus Christ. This work includes but is not limited to these tasks:
Primary duties:
- Manage day-to-day operations of Drogo’s Coffee Bar:
- Track inventory and oversee Drogo’s budget
- Wholesale ordering from vendors
- Manage scheduling of baristas
- Ensure daily and quarterly cleanliness of café and Catholic Center building
- Hire, train and supervise baristas each semester
- Create new menu and regularly update menu items (specialty or seasonal) and pricing of items
- Coordinate ordering of breads, breakfast burritos and snacks to be sold
- Accurately count and reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure correct balances.
- Prepare and verify daily cash deposits, ensuring all funds are accounted for and securely transported to the bank in accordance with company procedures
- Parking enforcement and towing
- Oversight of weekly Adoration schedule
- Assist with Campus Ministry Student Leadership
- Assist with other student events as needs arise
Statistics and Quality Control:
- Track coffee sales and customer statistics to monitor relevant statistics such as new customers, return customers, student sales, non-student sales, most popular drinks, days, times, etc
- Oversee customer service and quality control, including monitoring reviews on Yelp and Google
- Maintain quality control of drinks and that Drogo’s is welcoming environment
- Ensure that chalkboard sign for Drogo’s is regularly updated and outside
- Ensure baristas properly set up and take down outdoor furniture and shades
- Update training manual for baristas
Qualifications:
- Previous barista experience required; supervisory experience helpful
- Friendly and outgoing demeanor
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player who will collaborate with Catholic Center staff
- Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull up to 30 lbs
- Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
- Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
