Key Responsibilities
- Field-Based HR Support: Serve as a hands-on HR partner serving on two cross-functional teams for up to 15 parishes - building relationships with pastors, principals (if a school), and staff, understanding their unique needs, and providing tailored guidance.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Assist parishes in recruiting and onboarding employees, helping ensure consistency, compliance, and mission alignment.
- Employee Relations: Provide coaching and support on a wide range of workplace matters including conflict resolution, performance improvement, and terminations.
- Policy & Compliance: Help parishes interpret and implement HR policies and practices in line with employment law and Archdiocesan guidelines.
- Training & Capacity Building: Offer training and practical resources for parish leaders to support staff development and HR best practices.
- HR Systems & Documentation: Ensure accurate records, proper use of HRIS (Paylocity), and support process improvements at the parish level.
What We’re Looking For
- A practicing Catholic who aligns with the Church’s mission and teachings (required)
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field—or equivalent combination of experience and education
- 7–10 years of broad-based HR experience, preferably with experience supporting multiple locations or client groups (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment law and HR best practices
- Ability to balance forward thinking and anticipating needs with day-to-day, hands-on HR problem solving
- Outstanding proactive interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to serve diverse parish communities and religious leaders
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to parish locations throughout our MSC team’s location on a regular basis
