Athletic Director St. Fabian Farmington Hills Elementary School (Part-Time, Seasonal)
The athletic director fulfills the Catholic school's mission by assisting the administration in developing an athletic program to promote student health, athletic skill, and Catholic identity in sportsmanship. The athletic director has decision-making responsibilities within essential functions and maintains school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal and Pastor. The Athletic Director serves with a volunteer CYO Board of Directors.
Job Description
- Plans, organizes and implements a comprehensive athletics program for students.
- Provides for the safety and well-being of student-athletes by implementing safety guidelines and training coaches and students.
- Maintains athletic inventory and coordinates ordering of new equipment and uniforms.
- Maintains the school athletic calendar and coordination with the school and parish calendars.
- Attends and supervises all on-campus athletic competitions and ensures supervision of all off-campus events.
- Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy.
- Communicates efficiently regarding registration, team assignments, schedules, and participation requirements.
- Follows CYO guidelines for AOD Sports programs.
- Organizes coaches, officials and parent volunteers.
- Works with school administrators and facility maintenance to ensure and recommend proper equipment and facilities maintenance.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in physical education, Sports Management, or a related field. (Preferred)
· Previous experience in athletic administration, coaching, or a related field, preferably in a school setting
· Strong leadership and communication skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents
