What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant & Young Toddler Child Care Aide position at Archdiocese of Detroit?
The Academy of the Sacred Heart has openings for aides to work with children from birth to age 3 in its Early Childhood Program. Preference is given to applicants who have an educational background and experience in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create an emotionally responsive, caring, positive, and accepting environment supportive of the individual development of each child and family
- Supervise young children and ensure a safe and loving environment including the ability to monitor and respond to events going on at all times in the classroom, outdoor play areas, and other areas of the campus.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
General Competencies:
- Completion of Protecting God's Children training, other health-related trainings (including, but not limited to CPR/First Aid), and fingerprints on file
- Excellent communication skills
- Punctuality and dependability
- Adherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and rules contained in the Academy of the Sacred Heart Handbook
- Maintain productive and professional relationships with other Sacred Heart faculty and staff
