Full-Time Kindergarten Classroom Teacher
St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School is seeking a full-time Kindergarten teacher to guide young learners in their foundational academic, social, and spiritual development. This position is for a self-contained kindergarten classroom, with the teacher responsible for teaching all core subjects, including a Catholic religion class.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and will actively promote the mission and values of a Catholic school. Starting date Feb 24, 2025 until mid June 2025.
Responsibilities
The Kindergarten teacher will:
Foster a nurturing, faith-filled classroom environment that reflects Catholic values.
Encourage active student engagement and a love of learning through hands-on and developmentally appropriate activities.
Implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students in a learner-centered environment.
Utilize effective assessment methods to monitor and support student progress in foundational skills and concepts.
Integrate technology into the classroom, including iPads, Chromebooks, and interactive learning platforms. Be prepared to pivot to virtual instruction if necessary based on state or local mandates.
Maintain a consistent and positive approach to classroom management that promotes self-direction, respect, and confidence.
Communicate effectively and regularly with students, families, and colleagues to support student growth.
Collaborate with school staff and administration to support the overall mission of the school.
Participate in school-wide activities, including professional development and community events.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate with an elementary-level or early childhood endorsement.
Be willing to pursue or already possess a catechist certificate issued by the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Have completed or be willing to complete fingerprinting, a background check, and the Protecting God's Children workshop.
Demonstrate a commitment to Catholic education and the spiritual, academic, and social growth of students.
