What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Kindergarten Teacher position at Archdiocese of Detroit?
All Saints Catholic School is seeking a full-time pre-kindergarten teacher for the 2025-26 school year. All Saints Catholic School is a preschool through 8th grade regional school located at 48735 Warren Road, Canton, MI, serving over 600 students. We seek dynamic and energetic candidates passionately committed to Catholic education. Candidates must be proactive communicators, comfortable with the differentiation of instruction and must create a nurturing classroom environment.
Professional Responsibilities Include:
- Embodies and promotes the mission and vision of All Saints Catholic School
- Teaches all subjects utilizing the High Scope and Core Knowledge curriculum
- Engages students in learning through best practice strategies
- Assesses students’ academic and social growth
- Maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable classroom environment
- Uses a variety of student assessment tools to gauge student understanding
- Consistently creates a high level of active student engagement and student-led learning
- Plans for learning centers that include dramatic play, sensory, language and literacy, art, science, math, and music
- Uses technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process
- Communicates regularly with families and implements clear communication systems
- Cooperates with school administration; works effectively with all staff members to promote positive relationships with students and parents
- Completes additional administrative, operational, and professional responsibilities and duties as needed
- Follow all Michigan Child Care Licensing Guidelines
- Completion of professional development on childcare and child development is required each year
Qualifications:
All teachers in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and /or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. Applicants should possess:
- Michigan Certified Teacher with a ZA or ZS endorsement
- Strong example of Catholic Christian faith
- Catechist certification (or willingness to attain certification)
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
- Must take Protecting God's Children class
- Must successfully complete State of Michigan required Criminal Background Check and fingerprinting.
- CPR/First Aid certification or must be willing to become certified
