Position Summary
The AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) Assistant is responsible for providing direct assistance in a variety of areas including outreach and administrative support related to the overall efficient programmatic operations of the federal and state funded Program – Foster Grandparent Program.
Reports to: Foster Grandparent Program Manager
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Position requires a highly organized person with strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well with people of varying economic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work well with older adult population required.
- Position requires computer (Microsoft Office) proficiencies, creative problem solving and effective time management skills.
- Knowledge of confidentiality preferred.
- Successful completion of initial and on-going employment screens, including, but not limited to criminal background, sex offender, drug screen, OIG, valid Michigan driver’s license, abuse and neglect and vehicle record check as required and reliable transportation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Services:
- Assist FGP Program Manager to assure program compliance with funding and programming requirements of AmeriCorps Seniors, Michigan’s Health and Aging Services Administration and other funding sources.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new volunteer outreach and recruitment.
- Assist with the collection and processing of program data.
- Assist with the delivery of marketing materials.
- Assist with updating files, data, and mailings.
- Contact volunteers to update their records.
- Assure program accountability through the establishment and maintenance of program records and volunteer records.
- Attend staff meetings as assigned.
- Attend volunteer events and training as needed.
- Conduct oneself in an ethical, mature and professional manner with honesty and integrity, welcoming clients, coworkers and other stakeholders with dignity and respect.
- Other duties as assigned by the FGP Program Manager.
- Adhere to the Mission, Values and Vision of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel:
This job operates in a professional office environment and includes approximately 20% travel within Oakland County. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Position Classification, Type & Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time 10 hour per week, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are within the normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
