Position Summary:
Our Lady of Refuge Catholic School is seeking to fill the position with a candidate that is a team player possessing flexibility and an unwavering commitment to students’ academic and spiritual development. The teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by guiding, inspiring, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment.
Substitute Teachers support the mission of the school and consistently exercise discretion and judgment in providing support when teachers or aides are absent from school.
Professional Responsibilities:
Providing coverage for absent teachers
Working to ensure students are able to meet learning goals
Delivering lesson plans as appropriate
Supervising students throughout the school day
Monitoring and maintaining regular class attendance
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal
Professional Requirements (include but not limited to):
Minimum of 90 college credits, valid Michigan teaching certificate preferred
Experience working with children in a school setting, preferred
Ability to maintain a well-managed, positive learning environment
Strong communication, interpersonal and computer skills
Criminal history background check and Protecting God’s Children training required
