Mission:

Position Overview:
The seasonal Varsity Women's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for leading and managing the women's lacrosse program. This role involves creating and implementing training plans, instructing, and mentoring student-athletes, and promoting a positive and competitive team environment. The coach will work to develop players' skills, foster teamwork, and instill values of sportsmanship and academic excellence.
Program Development:
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance players' skills, fitness, and tactical understanding.
- Conduct regular practice sessions, focusing on skill development, team strategies, and game preparation.
- Plan and oversee all aspects of team play, including offense, defense, and special teams.
Athlete Development:
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback to help athletes improve their performance and achieve their personal and team goals.
- Monitor and assess players' progress, making necessary adjustments to training plans.
- Educate players on the importance of nutrition, injury prevention, and overall wellness.
Team Leadership:
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes hard work, discipline, and mutual respect.
- Encourage sportsmanship and appropriate conduct both on and off the field.
- Promote academic success and ensure athletes maintain academic eligibility.
Communication:
- Maintain open lines of communication with players, parents, school staff, and the athletic department regarding schedules, events, and athlete progress.
- Collaborate with athletic trainers, strength coaches, and other staff to support player development and health.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage team logistics, including practice schedules, travel arrangements, equipment, and uniforms.
- Ensure compliance with school, CHSL, and MHSAA regulations.
- Keep accurate records of player participation, performance, and team achievements.
Qualifications:
-Previous coaching experience, particularly in lacrosse, is highly desirable.
-Ability to work effectively with high school aged student athletes
-Commitment to the values and teachings of the Catholic faith
-Excellent leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
-Certifications: AED, CPR and First Aid certification; coaching certification preferred.
-Background check and clearance required.
Work Environment:
- Practices and games typically occur outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Requires evening and weekend commitments for practices, games, and other team events.
Physical Requirements:
- Capacity to travel with the team for away games and tournaments.
