What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Education/Health Teacher - St. Malachy School position at Archdiocese of Indianapolis?
St. Malachy Catholic School, located on the west side of Indianapolis in the growing town of Brownsburg, is a preschool through 8th grade Catholic school with an enrollment of 520 students with two classrooms for each grade level. St. Malachy is seeking a faith-filled physical education and health teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The teacher in this position will be responsible for planning and implementing physical education lessons for kindergarten through 8th grade students, and teach Health and Wellness to 8th grade students. The ideal teacher candidate has both a strong knowledge of the Indiana Physical Education and Health Standards as well as current best practices to meet diverse student needs.
All teachers at St. Malachy are expected to design and facilitate engaging lessons, utilize formative assessment to guide instruction and provide ongoing student support, and create a positive classroom environment with Christ at the center.
Teachers must have a strong faith and willingness to share that faith with students throughout each subject area taught. Candidates should be able to work with grade-level team members, other grade level teachers, special education, and special area teachers, as well as all support staff. Must have excellent organization and communication skills while being flexible.
