St. Wenceslaus Catholic Elementary School, the Archdiocese's largest preschool to 8th-grade elementary school located in West Omaha, is currently accepting applications for an efficient and successful 8th Grade Literature and Language Arts teaching position for the 2025-26 school year. This position requires the teacher to develop lesson plans, formulate classroom instruction, and facilitate student learning. The teacher will create a caring, Christian, and positive learning environment for academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development. The teacher will provide accommodations to support the student’s growth in the general curriculum and, if necessary, work with resource staff to adjust instruction to meet the needs of all students. The teacher will maintain the student's academic progress and records along with various assessments to document the student's progress through the year. The teacher will maintain a line of communication between the parents, students, their Instructional Para, administration, and fellow school staff.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Effective classroom management
- Strong skills and in-depth knowledge in Literature and Language Arts
- Both well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with and confidence in technology systems (Smartboards, laptops, document cameras, etc.)
- Flexibility in adjusting to schedule changes
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
