Job Description:
Saint Patrick School in Malvern, PA is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in history, geography, civics, and world cultures, as well as a commitment to integrating Catholic values into the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons for middle school students (grades [6-8]).
- Incorporate Catholic teachings and values into lesson plans where appropriate.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, discussion, and respect.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to enhance the academic experience.
- Participate in school-wide activities, faculty meetings, and professional development.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
- Uphold the mission and values of the Catholic Church in both instruction and behavior.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification
- Previous teaching experience preferred, especially at the middle school level.
- Practicing Catholic preferred, with a commitment to faith-based education.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to integrate technology into instruction effectively.
