Description
Summary : St. Gregory Charger Tot Early Learning Program is seeking a full-time Infant Teacher. The development center is licensed through Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Reports to : Center Director
Essential Job Duties :
- Direct daily classroom activities using positive guidance techniques.
- Greet children and parents in a warm and friendly manner upon arrival each morning.
- Plan and implement lesson plan activities and experiences that are developmentally appropriate.
- Operate the classroom in compliance with the state licensing.
- Evaluate each child's progress regularly, maintaining written records.
- Contribute to the operation of the center by participating in staff meetings and sharing information gained through attendance at workshops and professional reading.
- Assess each child's level of development and developing short and long range goals for each child, while planning daily activities based on the set goals.
- Respond quickly to children's different and personal needs, verbal and non-verbal cues, temperament, abilities, and culture.
- Plan, implement, and supervise appropriate curriculum for the children providing experiences in all areas, such as art, music, reading, science, math, etc., and meet timelines set by the director.
- Plan, implement, and supervise activities which promote healthy development of children in all areas - physical and motor, cognitive and language, and social and emotional.
- Review and carry out health plans and or allergy action plans for any special diets, allergies, medication administration, etc.
- Provide direct supervision, training, guidance, leadership, and technical assistance to the assigned assistant toddler teacher, if applicable.
- Ensure child care routines are carried out in a manner that prompt, hygienic, and are consistent with good child development practices. This includes routines related to hand washing, eating, napping, outside play, and transitioning between activities.
- Communicate with parents and families regarding their child's day.
- Maintain confidentiality of child and family information at all times.
- Maintain written records of child's progress or accident / incident reports.
- Observe children to detect signs of illness, injury, abuse, neglect, emotional disturbance, or other special needs, and report them immediately to the Director.
- Use equipment and supplies safely and conscientiously, keeping physical environment clean and orderly.
- Inspect the school site and equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action or informing the Director to prevent injuries.
- Other duties as assigned.
