Position Title: Education Specialist for Summer School
FLSA Classification: Non Exempt
Reports to: Head of School, Megan Rabbitt
Position Purpose: Responsible for all ELA and Math curriculum instruction, programming,
collaboration, and development around the Reading and/or Math electives offered in the summer school
program at Saint Brigid Academy Grades 1-8.
Summer Camp Dates: June 6/9-6/27
Work Hours: 8:45 am - 12:15 pm teaching two classes 5 days a week
Classes: 9 am-10:15 am
10:45 am-12:00pm
Essential Functions and Tasks:
? Create multi-sensory classroom activities in English Language Arts (i.e. Orton Gilligham
rooted reading and language approach, engaging lessons that develop foundational and/or
age-appropriate reading, writing, and speaking skills)
? Create multi-sensory classroom activities in Mathematics (i.e. math games and puzzles,
math-based magic tricks, curious paradoxes, and other applicable activities)
? Project-based lessons that focus on experiment concept exploration, strengthening
grade-level skills, and preparing for the school year ahead
? Assessing students upon entry into the program to see where they are academically and
adjust the curriculum accordingly
? Create lesson plans and implement lessons throughout the week
? Create assessments for parent feedback at the end of each week
? Supervising recess and snack duties
? Signing students in and out of the classroom at start and end of sessions
Qualifications:
? A bachelor’s degree, master's preferred
? Experience with project-based learning including the creation of driving questions, and
learning goals
? Ability to oversee a hands-on, project-based curriculum
