What are the responsibilities and job description for the 4th grade Teacher position at Archdiocese of Seattle Catholic Schools?
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School is a Preschool-8th grade parochial school in Tacoma, WA. We are seeking a full time 4th grade teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. St. Charles is a double graded classroom school where the two teachers work closely together and share students. The successful candidate must have a current Washington State Teacher Certificate, demonstrate strong knowledge of intermediate childhood development, and be a practicing Catholic. The applicant must also demonstrate strengths in the following areas:
A passion for subject content material and the skills required to guide students in developing conceptual understanding of the mathematics and science material that is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and Archdiocese of Seattle religion standards. (SCB uses the CKLA English Language Arts program, TCI Social Studies, Nancy Larsen Science and GoMath Curriculum)
A passion for subject content material and the skills required to guide students in developing conceptual understanding of the religion, math, language arts, science and social studies material that is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and Archdiocese of Seattle religion standards
Experience in working with intermediate students
Clear and consistent communication with parents/families
Experience with differentiated instruction in mixed ability classrooms
An intrigue for continued learning within the language arts and social studies fields, as well as learning in other fields
Facilitate with technology - Google experience is a plus
Effective skills in creating positive relationships with students and their families
Strong interpersonal, collaborative and organizational skills
Experience in aligning classroom instruction with state and national standards-based assessment
Candidate must be a practicing Catholic and able to teach religion
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Other duties as assigned
