Villa Academy seeks a part-time Extended Day Teacher (serving Middle School students) to join its team. This four hours / day role will be working directly with students aged ten to fourteen after school, in partnership with the Extended Day team. Hours are 2 - 6 PM, Monday through Friday. Throughout the year there will be additional hours required when school is closed, and full-day care is offered. This is a ten-month, non-exempt position that follows the academic calendar, reporting to the Extended Day Coordinator.
The ideal candidate has a current knowledge of childhood education. They will know, appreciate, and enjoy young learners and be well-versed in their developmental needs. The candidate will be enthusiastic, informed, engaging, and experienced in developmentally appropriate practices. They have a commitment to growing in cultural competence, professional development, and skill application.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Facilitate play-based, child-centered after-school learning experiences for children aged ten to fourteen.
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities for Middle School students.
- Support student with homework as needed.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with students while facilitating healthy conversations.
- Effectively partner and communicate with families, colleagues, and administration to appropriately challenge and support students.
- Collaborate with other members of the Extended Day team to share best practices and improve instructional strategies.
- Integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning experiences.
- Regularly assess, evaluate, and provide feedback on student performance.
- Participate in faculty / staff and team meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS :
Anticipated salary ranges between $25 - 28.20 / hour, dependent upon education and experience . Villa Academy offers a robust benefits package for part-time employees including 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions, free parking, and paid time off.
