This position requires a dynamic educator with expertise in personalized instruction, alternative learning strategies, and student-centered support. The Learning Specialist will collaborate with teachers, students, and families to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring all students have access to the resources they need to thrive.
Tutoring Center Oversight:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the tutoring center, ensuring a welcoming and productive learning environment.
- Coordinate tutoring schedules, including assigning peer and faculty tutors as needed.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of tutoring program.
- Develop and maintain resources (study guides, reference materials, etc.) for student use in the tutoring center.
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students across various subjects, with a focus on study skills, test preparation, and content mastery.
- Offer academic coaching, including time management, organization, and metacognitive strategies.
- Collaborate with Academic Support Specialist, teachers, and counselors to support students with learning differences or specific academic needs.
- Coordinate and supervise make-up exams and assessments in the tutoring center, ensuring a secure and organized testing environment.
- Use data to identify trends in student learning needs and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student participation, progress, and academic support interventions.
- Collaborate with administrators to evaluate and enhance academic support services.
- Stay current with research-based instructional techniques and share relevant insights with faculty through ongoing training sessions.
- Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in education, academic support, or tutoring services, preferably at the high school or college prep level.
- Demonstrated expertise in executive functioning coaching, learning differences, and learning support strategies, including assistive technology.
- Experience working with students with learning differences and supporting their success.
- Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
- Experience with academic management platforms or student information systems.
- Background in learning disabilities, executive functioning strategies, or educational psychology.
- Testing coordination experience.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to effectively manage the tutoring center.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, teachers, and families.
- Ability to design and deliver professional development workshops.
- Proficiency in using data to monitor student progress and adjust interventions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
- Salary range is $65,000-$95,000.
