Job Summary
Duchesne High School is a college-preparatory Catholic High School located in St. Charles, MO. Our mission is to shape leaders in mind, body, and spirit. Duchesne currently has an opening in the English Department. To enhance the total learning experience, our teachers typically moderate or coach at least one sport or activity.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with academic standards and Catholic teachings.
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, and critical analysis skills to middle school students.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages discussion, creativity, and respect.
- Incorporate faith-based perspectives into literature and writing assignments where appropriate.
- Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, projects, and exams.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and participate in school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain strong communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Job Requirements
Secondary Missouri Certification in English
Strong background in English
Proven success teaching at high school level
Ability to use technology fully in the classroom
Well-versed in best practice strategies
Experience with curriculum development
