Job Summary
Holy Spirit Catholic School - English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher
The ESL Teacher provides instruction and support to students whose primary language is not English, helping them develop language proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The teacher collaborates with classroom teachers and administrators to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and interventions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lessons that support English language acquisition.
- Assess students’ language proficiency and tailor instruction to meet their needs.
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction to help students develop fluency.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and instruction for English learners.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of assessments and interventions.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Advocate for English learners and promote cultural awareness within the school community.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field.
- ESL/ELL teaching certification required.
- Experience working with English language learners in a school setting.
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
