As a member of the Federation of Catholic Charities, we serve the metropolitan and surrounding St. Louis area through four core programs: prevention, education, treatment, and housing.

Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Lead Behavioral Health Technician

REPORTS TO: Program Manager

LOCATION: Cathedral Tower, St. Philippine Home, or Our Lady of Perpetual Help

DIRECT REPORTS: N/A

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Founded in 1985, Queen of Peace Center (QOPC) is a $10 million-dollar non-profit organization serving more than 1,300 St. Louis women and their children and families each year. We are focused exclusively on providing family-centered behavioral healthcare. Our unique model addresses the full continuum of needs for those impacted by substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and trauma by providing treatment, prevention, education, and housing.

QOPC is committed to serving the St. Louis community with passion, a humble spirit and a belief in the possibilities. One of eight federated agencies of Catholic Charities of St. Louis, QOPC is a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and has its own Board of Directors. We are licensed by Missouri Department of Mental Health and accredited by the Council on Accreditation.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Lead Behavioral Health Technician will perform designated non-clinical tasks that promote the overall health and well-being for both inpatient and outpatient clients. Provide exceptional direct and supportive services to include crisis management, assist with therapeutic activities and the facilitation of groups. These duties will be performed in a highly professional and enthusiastic manner in direct alignment with the mission, vision and values of Queen of Peace Center.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Coach New and Existing BHT
  • Complete chart audits for shift note completion
  • Assist with client enrollment and discharge from the program
  • Complete trainings on intake, orientation, and how to take and chart vital signs
  • Complete safety check of client’s personal belongings
  • Work collaboratively with the Residential Managers to assist with scheduling and organize monthly meetings
  • Document any and all concerns related to clients behavior in daily shift log and in Electronic Health Record
  • Complete and collect incident reports of events related to client care
  • Work collaboratively with the Residential Manager to identify program needs and develop plan for implementation
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and escalate to the Residential Manager(s) to develop a course of action
  • Motivate team performance and monitor productivity
  • Ensure that all state regulations are followed as it pertains to proper documentation of group logs and following safety and programmatic protocols
  • Adhere to medication policies and work collaboratively with nursing staff to ensure all medication protocols are followed and charted accurately and appropriately
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching proactively
  • Facilitate assigned and scheduled groups
  • Screen and monitor detoxification clients
  • Promote professionalism and a strong commitment to the Queen of Peace Center mission
  • Demonstrate leadership through appropriate attire
  • Support client transporation needs as necessary
  • Coach team members on appropriate boundaries and ethics
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for shift coverage
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in human services or other related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CPR/First Aid and Med-Level 1 Certification
  • Missouri Class E driver’s license or other comparable license
  • Preferred 2 years’ experience working in a residential setting, preferably in substance use or behavioral health
